Separators Nos 15 and 17 with Pulling Device No. 18
For removing tightly seated ball and roller bearings, inner bearing races, gear rims and other parts.

The edges of the separator jaws are forced behind the parts to be withdrawn and pry them off their seats.
For pulling from a shaft, use the separator with a Pulling Device no 18 of suitable size. The bolts of the matching pulling device are screwed into the two tapholes of the separator.

Tighten screw against shaft end (Figs 1 and 2). Pulling Devices Nos 18-4 and 18-5 can be used with Hydraulic Screws Nos 8-1-B and 8-2-M.

Hydraulic mode (Fig. 3):
Use spanner (b) to squeeze hollow spindle of Hydraulic screw tightly against shaft end. Turn handle (a) to move inside ram screw and start hydraulic action (Fig. 3). Before operating under pressure, part and pulling device have to be wrapped with canvas or heavy cloth for protection from accidents caused by parts coming unstuck abruptly.
